Things you need to bring during the 2009 Sinulog Festival!
Okay, Cebu’s 2009 Sinulog Festival is fast approaching —January 18, 2009 to be exact – but mind you, you won’t be enjoying this years’ Sinulog festival if you fail to bring these stuffs with you or if you’ll be bringing these stuffs with you.
I know a lot of you guys are so excited now to drop by Cebu during that time especially travel & photo bloggers like myself, but darn you have to be wary of so many things also for you to fully enjoy the activities offered by Sinulog Foundation – be sure to memorize all the schedules for you to know where to go.
Anyway, Cebu is not your ordinary playground so it’s better to be vigilant than sorry.
So what stuffs should you be bringing during the event? Stuffs below are a must to me but might not to some so bare with me.
Digital Camera/SLR. Yes, you need this gadget to treasure the moment. So when you go home you got the pictures with you for you to brandish it to your friends. So get the best angle as much as possible, and if you’re a blogger (or whatever) and plans to publish your pictures online see to it that prowlers like me should envy your shots. Well, I know it’s not for me so go ahead post it, but expect other bloggers to use it w/ or w/o permission.
Video Camera. I think some gadgets nowadays have this feature already so I won’t be elaborating much of its importance. This contraption would be very useful come fireworks display at Ayala Grounds on January 18, 2008 9:00 pm. Darn! I can’t let that much awaited display of beauty in the sky pass this time w/o capturing its full length. Guys, if you’re familiar with the Sinulog Official Soundtrack the fireworks display will be dancing & swaying with its tune.
Mobile Phone. This is a must because if you’re lost, man! no one can point you to the right direction especially if you’re new to the place because I’m pretty sure you’ll be asking guys who’s also new to Cebu. But just a reminder folks! Bring the cheapest mobile phone with you during that event. I’d be bringing my 1100 (I doubt if this one is but I’m pretty sure this phone was released by Nokia almost a decade ago) powered by Sun Cellular during that time. It is cost-effective. If my mobile phone gets swindled, hence, the damage is not that big. I tell you guys, these criminals will also be around celebrating the Sinulog Festival with you so be very careful with your stuffs.
I know stuffs on top are quite expensive, but if my logic is right these criminals won’t be grabbing those stuffs placed in front of you but rather from your back and pockets. Gets?
Laptop. So you need to publish your stuffs online this quick? I would suggest you bring your own laptop and stay on a wi-fi area – I don’t know which area is that but I would suggest you guys stay in groups or near a friendly crowd (not in my crowd because I’m not). Don’t expect to work your *** on internet café’s because I’m darn sure that they’re fully booked.
Valid ID. Ladies and gentlemen, you need to bring this one also. Valid is valid not semi-valid or whatever ID’s you have. It should have a picture of you. For what reason, logic will tell you what the valid ID is for. If you can’t figure it out go ask your mom or dad. Peace!
Insurance Cards/HMO. To be safe and sound, well nobody can guarantee your safety once you blend with the crowd, but I would suggest that you bring with you your insurance cards/hmo’s. Nobody knows right? And BTW, don’t forget to wear clean & new undies because when things get’s worst and you’re in the emergency room, Jeeeez!.. it would be so embarrassing if you guys aren’t wearing the presentable ones. Perhaps, you can wear victoria secret, triumph, wacoal, and the like. I’m not sure if this is available for men, but you can wear them if you like. This is a democratic country anyway!
Cash. Lots of cash? Nah! You won’t need those, but I will be. Nuff with those korny jokes just bring extra cash with you because there are a lot of tempting stuffs during the event, and when I say extra it should be extra, not that you will be bringing with you enough for your fare only. But mind you, we all will be walking at that time because no public utility vehicle would be allowed to roam around, so no fare is needed, but for the henna tattoos and food/drinks rather.
What not to bring? Stuffs not mentioned above shouldn’t be brought during the event. NO WALLETS! Yes, I mean it, don’t bring any wallets. Just insert those stuffs anywhere in front but not at your back. The last time, I remember inserting some of those stuffs in my belly. Might be uncomfortable but pretty safe. And please, no bringing of make up kits !
